Fredensborg Store Kro is situated in the beautiful area of North Zealand, Fredensborg. The hotel is a neighbour to Fredensborg Castle, where the Queen resides a large part of the year, and where Crown Prince Frederick and Crown Princess Mary currently reside.

Our Royal history
The history of Fredensborg Store Kro is closely related to that of the neighbouring Fredensborg Castle. The castle was built between 1719-1722 by King Frederik IV. Before that time a royal estate had existed on the same location - Østrup Manor House. The name Fredensborg in danish means castle of peace and was inspired by the recent peace following the Great Nordic War.
